Members of our club as well as those from Rotaract and Interact had the fun opportunity to cheer on the 1300+ runners of the 2011 Atlanta Marathon on behalf of HomeStretch. In doing so we helped Homestretch secure a maximum $7500 donation from the Atlanta Track Club. The morning started early at 6:30am as we carpooled to downtown Atlanta. Some of us wore "special" costumes to cheer the runners on and we also manned the water station at mile 13. We also learned that President Sam has a very unusual talent of making the exact sound of a fire truck siren! It was a unique time for fellowship as we helped to support Homestretch's important role of helping homeless families get back on their feet and into permanent, sustainable housing.
