Annual Mayor’s Challenge 5K Road Race

Race check-in begins at 6 p.m. with a range of festive activities for the whole family. The  Kids Fun Run will begin at 7 p.m. with the 5K race/run/walk beginning at 7:30 p.m. Make sure to pack your lawn chairs because the Block Party will continue until 11 p.m. People of all ages are welcome, if you run or not and are encouraged to bring their family, including their dogs, for a fun and healthy evening The night includes Food Trucks, a Concert, Sponsors Expo and exciting activies for the entire family.

“We are excited to be a sponsor of the Mayor’s Challenge for another year,” said Janet Rodgers, President and CEO of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau.  “The event is expected to bring thousands of people including runners and block partiers.  We hope the event will attract those outside the Alpharetta area to come and visit our awesome city and stay in one of our 23 hotels.”

For the past 17 years, the Alpharetta Mayor’s Challenge has allowed the city and Rotary Club of Alpharetta to come together with neighbors to raise money for the Rotary Club’s continued support and involvement in a large number of local community and international projects.

LexisNexis will partner with the Rotary Club of Alpharetta for the Mayors Challenge to help magnify the impact of its annual running event and give back to the Alpharetta community.

Early registration is $25, regular registration is $30 after August 3 and race day registration is $35. Registration can be done in person at Big Peach Running Co. or online at www.mayorschallenge.com. All participants will receive a technical t-shirt and awards will be given to the male and female winners in the 10 year age brackets and to the top overall male/female.
