August 5, 2011 Meeting
Club Assembly was a part of this meeting and several Directors made presentations on current and future activities.
Wayne Robinson detailed several Community Service Projects in the works for the coming year. We will be participating with South Forsyth Rotary in a clean water project on Lake Lanier, coordinating with the Boy Scouts in a tree planting with the goal of planting 25 trees per Rotarian, continuing our support of the Drake House, and participating in District 6900's signature project sponsoring an Adopt a Cottage Campaign to restore historic cottages at the Warm Springs National Historic Landmark District. 60 out of approximately 70 Rotary Clubs in the district have commited to this effort. Our club has already donated $500 and Bill Weeks and Ben Easterling are coordinating our club's participation.
Rory briefs the group on the new weekly program to be placed at each table and the Project Completion Summary that will be added to the web site. Heather explains progress on the backpack drive.
Joel has final instructions for the "Topless Parade" and Kirk explains his strategy for increasing our membership.
Kinga acquaints us with her country, Poland and Mark Spiegel is recognized for his leadership of our Stand Up For Kids Project by Past president Steve Gillard.
Chris Weeber honors his wife, Marilyn, as a Paul Harris Fellow. Steve and Steve let the raffle pot grow for another week!
