November 18, 2011 Meeting
Club Foundation Director, John Hipes, gave a presentation about Rotary Foundation followed by the recognition of two of our Paul Harris Fellows. Steve Gillard received a PH pin with two sapphires and Mike Lowry received a PH pin with one sapphire signifying their increased level of giving.
The club made two presentations in conjunction with District Grants received. A $1000 dollar check was presented to Shelterbox and accepted by Wayne Robinson, member of their board in the US. Also a $1500 dollar commitment was made to HomeStretch for the acquisition of needed items and accepted by Rose Burton and Monica Oliveira. They acknowledged Alpharetta Rotary's participation in their Atlanta Marathon fundraiser which netted the maximun donation of $7500 dollars.
