Alpharetta Rotary teamed with the City of Milton, Boy Scouts, and the Milton Chapter of Young Men's Service League this Saturday to distribute tree seedlings in conjunction with Milton's Christmas tree recycling. There were three locations accepting trees and our volunteers helped to unload over 300 trees at Milton High School. This is the first of three club "tree projects" organized by Community Service Director Wayne Robinson. The other two will be on Earth Day and Arbor Day.

In total Alpharetta Rotary will distribute almost one thousand redbud and dogwood seedlings. This effort is in support of RI District 6900's challenge to plant at least one tree per district Rotarian and RI President Kalyan Banerjee's call to plant 25 trees per each worldwide Rotarian this year.

Alpharetta Rotarians supporting the effort were Mary Williams, William Perkins, State Rep Lynne Riley, Chris Weeber, Milton City Manager Chris Lagerbloom, Mike Connell, President Sam Gordon, Dan Merkel, and Wayne Robinson. Members of the Milton City Council present were Bill Lusk, Karen Thurman, and Matt Kunz.
