ImageThe Rotary Club of Alpharetta has made a donation of $250.00 to the Angel Flight organization. Angel Flight specializes in transporting patients in need of potentially life-saving medical treatment that is not available in their local area.

The majority of patients served are children that have repeated healthcare treatment needs at distant locations. They are totally committed to their mission of removing the obstacle of transportation for individuals with medical and financial needs. And, their volunteer pilots are ready to take flight and act as angels in the lives of others.

Angel Flight is the original volunteer pilot organization serving those who reside in, are traveling to or through the states of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and the Carolinas since 1983. And luckily, they have angels everywhere, or at least other pilot organizations to work with through the Air Care alliance, if needs extend beyond this region. They will also arrange transportation for other compassionate purposes for the benefit of the community. Angel Flight is a non-profit, community service organization and is supported entirely by private and corporate donations. These contributions are used to cover costs of mission coordination, pilot recruitment, education and community outreach. More information on the organization can be found at www.AngelFlightSoars.org.

“If the first half of your life is about success and the second half is about significance, being a volunteer angel for Angel Flights helps me to feel significant,” said Gary Greenbaum, one of Angel Flight’s volunteer pilots.

“We are excited about supporting Angel Flight’s mission to remove the obstacle transportation for individuals with medical and financial needs,” said Bill Weeks, President of the Rotary Club of Alpharetta.
