One of the four Rotary Avenues of Service is International. The GRSP program provides a unique opportunity for all of our club members to be part of our international service.

Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia, USA, have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities. Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country. The students become adopted members of a Georgia "host family," but live on-campus at the school they attend.

Our GRSP Student - Alice Overton-Lamb - is one of 66 international students in the GRSP class of 2090-2010. Her other classmates come from South America, Central America, Europe, China and other exotic locations including Fiji, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Alice is one of two students from England. Alice's host families are William and Jan Perkins and Eric and Megan Douglas. Alice will be our program this Friday morning.

Our club will be co-hosting a GRSP Student weekend with the Sandy Springs Rotary Club on November 13-15. There are a number of opportunities to become involved in this weekend:

 · Host a few students stay in your home Friday night,

· Accompany the student on their day in Atlanta on Saturday

· Participate in the Saturday evening at the YMCA as part of the     student lock-in

· Participate in the Sunday morning breakfast and send off at the YMCA This is a great opportunity to interact with these very special students from the far reaches of the word. Please see Wayne Robinson for more information.
