Alpharetta Hosts the World - Nov. 14 to 16

Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia, USA, have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities.  Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country.  The students become adopted members of a Georgia "host family," but live on-campus at the school they attend.  This is a scholarship program, not an exchange!  Each year, about 80 students from all over the world make friends in the United States and other nations and learn about differing cultures and life styles. Georgia Rotarians believe "Peace is Possible" and through GRSP promote international goodwill through the bonds of friendship and understanding.

The Rotary Clubs of Alpharetta and Sandy Springs are privileged to once again co-host a GRSP weekend here in Atlanta on November 14th to 16th.  The students will arrive on the evening of November 14th and after a dinner at the Spalding Drive Charter School in Sandy Springs, the students will spend the night with Rotary host families.  On Saturday November 15th, the students will visit the Atlanta Zoo, CNN Center, and Andretti's in Alpharetta, and conclude the evening with a lock-in at the Alpharetta YMCA.

Volunteers are needed to serve as host families on Friday night, chaperones on Saturday for the trip to Atlanta, and chaperones for the YMCA lock-in.  Please contact John Norton to volunteer and participate in this memorable weekend with an amazing group of young people.
