Happy New Year Rotary Club of Alpharetta.  It is my sincere hope that this year will bring each and every one of you more of what you are looking for in life.  I think many of us take this time to “re-set” our lives a little bit.  A time where we reflect and say to ourselves “This year I am going to do some things different.”  The classics of lose weight, spend more time with my family, make more money etc. are all admirable and should be commended.  I think having a “re-set” point every year is healthy so I welcome New Year’s Resolutions and the time of reflection that come with them.  Even if some only last a short period of time I think many of them become life changers.

As a Rotary Club we are also looking at resolutions for the future.  Even though we are only half way into the Rotary year President Elect Karen has been assembling her board of directors and working on establishing some goals for the club in the years ahead.  I am working on measuring and adjusting the goals I set out for the club when I started 6 months ago and President Nominee Kirk has been throwing around some ideas that may start this year and carry on through his year and beyond.  This is a constant process and I feel our club has done a very good job of transitioning from year to year.  If you think about it, what successful company out there changes their top leaders every year?  None that I know of but the Rotary Clubs seem to have figured it out.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Dan
