I want to thank all of the Rotarians who arose before dawn to travel to Columbus Georgia for the annual Rotary District Assembly.  Considering the weather and proximity to spring break there was a huge turnout from the district.  We had quite a few members of our club attending for their first time and I think they came away with a better understanding of how Rotary works.  I know for many years I felt overwhelmed by all the working parts of the organization but after a while I was able to pull the curtain back and see it's really not as complicated as it often looks.

There are various  levels of volunteer management in Rotary International along with acronyms like DG, ADG, RLI, PETS, DC, DA, etc., that I think most industries and organizations adopt to simplify the discussions.  It has been my experience that in the course of those simplifications for the people who understand them, the harder it becomes for those who are trying to learn about them.  Please don’t hesitate to ask what something means and/or attend a DA or RLI to learn more.  Oh, that’s District Assembly and Rotary Leadership  Institute (or is it Rotary Learning Institute?) Get plugged in and get turned on.  See you Friday.

Yours in Rotary,

Dan
