President's Message - Aug. 9, 2013
Many of you may have noticed the July addition of the District 6900 Newsletter came out in August. I can appreciate this because the beginning of the Rotary year, which started July 1st, is extremely busy. There are more reports, projections, committees etc than you can imagine. I myself was pretty overwhelmed with the early demands but like the District, we are both pretty caught up and picking up speed.
As we roll into the last week before our biggest fund raising event of the year we all need to pick up some speed. We are asking you to turn in raffle ticket stubs and money as soon as you can to avoid some of the last minute rush. If you secured a sponsorship please remember we are counting on you to collect the check unless other arrangements have been made.
As for the actual race and concert we need help getting the word out. If you have the ability and the permission, please send out the flyer to everyone in your neighborhood or ask your HOA to send it out. Maybe announce it at work and/or add it to your Church bulletin. It’s a great event for the family with food, drinks, race, concert, fellowship etc. Bring your family and friends and don’t forget to sign up to help us run the race the day of the event. I really think this will be one of our best events not just from a fund stand point but a FUN stand point. There will be a lot of energy and excitement and what better way is there to continue the great momentum of this club.
