In case you haven’t noticed we are generating a lot of buzz as a club and the number of visitors we are having each week confirms so much of that.   A big part of the buzz is the number of projects we are involved in and the publicity that tends to follow these.  Our membership chairwoman this year is Heather Demis and she has taken a very proactive approach to growing our membership in many ways including a letter writing campaign to tell over 200 business leaders telling them who we are, what we are about and invite them to come and visit one of our meetings.

There is that age old adage that says “You only get one chance to make a first impression” and that couldn’t be any more true than a Rotary meeting.  Most of our members will tell you their first meeting played a big part in their decision to join.  If a visitor comes to a meeting and he or she is engaged by the members they feel a sense of belonging.  A warm reception usually leads to them looking into us more and an important step to becoming a member.  So, I ask that everyone take the time to say hello to everyone you see with a visitor badge.  Introduce them to a couple of members who may be standing close by.  Hand them a business card and tell them if they have any questions about the club to feel free to call you.

Keep up the great Rotary work.  See you all Friday.

Yours In Rotary Service,

Dan
