I want to personally invite everyone in the club to attend the Rotary District Conference April 24- 27 in San Destin.  If you have never been let me shed some light on it.  I have been to many industry conferences as well as not for profit and this event is one of the most laid back ones you will attend.  You can do as much or as little as you want.  We arrive on Thursday (some sneak in on Wednesday) and check in followed by registering where you receive your credentials and agenda options.  You can attend a low country boil or do dinner etc. on your own.  Friday is pretty open for you to do whatever you want.  Play golf, go to the beach, pool, shopping etc. Friday night is a reception and dinner for all those in district 6900 which is a lot of fun followed by the First Session which is always entertaining and inspiring.

Saturday has several options including a beach side lunch and session two at 5 followed by a Happy Hour reception hosted by DGE Alicia Michael and her husband Matt and then dinner etc. on your own.  Keep in mind we will have a hospitality room open each night so drinks and snacks will be available as well as the opportunity for some great fellowship with your Rotary friends from our club as well as many others you will more than likely know.

If you really want to get plugged into Rotary or just take a peek behind the curtain, this is a great opportunity to do just that and throw in some getaway time with your significant other.  It’s an easy drive and very reasonable cost as this is still the “off” season.  You can get a room through the Rotary web site or go to VRBO and work directly with an owner (I have done this and I use the same room each year) Go a  few days early or stay a few days later if you like and you can even bring the kids. Whatever it takes please take a look at it and see if you can make it work.   I have not met anyone who went that didn’t have a great time.  Feel free to contact me directly for more information.  You can register at www.rotarydistrict6900.org

Our club has been chosen to manage the registration desk at the conference so we will each be taking an hour or two to help people get signed in and distribute the materials and credentials.  In its own way this is actually a lot of fun.  Mike Lowry is in charge of the registration so look for more details to come out from him in the near future.

April 24- 27th lets go to the beach.

Yours in Rotary Service,

Dan
