We have a lot going on in the world of Rotary District 6900 which we are a part of.  March 28th is the annual District Training Assembly (new name for it this year) and we currently have about 16 of us signed up.  This is an education symposium for lack of a better word.  It’s a little more than half a day with a bunch of great classes you get to pick from to learn more about what Rotary is all about.  If you have not signed up yet but would like to go contact Karen Nolan or come see me and we will get you registered.  The club pays for this so it’s no cost to you.

The next big opportunity is the District 6900 Conference April 25-27. You can add some days to the beginning or add some to the end and enjoy the beach as well as an opportunity to see what we are all about as a Rotary District and where our club fits into the bigger picture.  Plenty of celebrating and several very cool sessions as well as a session on Sunday morning  where we get to be measured against other clubs our size for awards and prizes.  If you are on the fence or have decided to join us come see me and I will get you all the details.

On May 17th we have the RLI (Rotary Leadership Institute) coming to Roswell.  This is a three part class parts I, II and III.  This is by far the best “street level” Rotary training you can get.  This is practical training and an education that will help you either in your current leadership role or prepare you for the future should you decide to help run our club.  If you have not taken an RLI class you would sign up for level I at this one and in the future you will pick up the next two.  I am currently offering to pay for anyone who wishes to attend this class.

Keep in mind none of these obligate you to do anything after they are over.  You will not be targeted with pressure to take on a role it will merely offer you the knowledge should you decide you want to become more involved.

As many of you know we have team from our club in Honduras this week.    I am sure we will have an opportunity to hear more about their trip when they return but for now let’s keep them all in our prayers as they embark on this great service project.

Yours in Rotary,

Dan
