The running joke around my office is “if you don’t like the weather around here wait a couple days, it will change.” Change it has and so has many areas of our Rotary Club.  Last weekend Karen Nolan and Kirk Driskell spent two full days in a class at that is known as PETS (President Elect Training Session) here in Atlanta.  There are so many areas of Rotary that we start to develop our future leaders years in advance by having them serve in various board and committee positions.  This is where we start our training and eventually we move into the formal training such as PETS and RLI (Rotary Leadership Institute.)  It can seem like a lot of information and a lot of detail but over time if you take in a little more each year you will have a full understanding of all aspects of Rotary.  If you would like to be more involved and work towards a future leadership role in your club please raise your hand.  Come see me or any other board member or past president and let us know.  We will be more than happy to get you set up in the right direction.

We have a lot of great things in store for the next four months and at the same time Karen, Kirk and the new board who will take over in July will be working behind the scenes to develop their team which will be ready to step up to the next round of change.  I hope to see you Friday.

Yours in Rotary,

Dan
