Looking for a way to join other Rotarians on a service project? The Rotary Club of Atlanta's Annual Wilderness Team Trip is open to ALL District 6900 Rotarians!
This trip is a great way to understand the issues that face third world countries before committing your whole club to a trip or project. The annual Wilderness Team trip of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, will be traveling to rural Honduras for one week to work on schools, medical clinics and in mountain villages. The trip is open to anyone with a big heart and a willingness to pitch in with other Rotarians to do good work and have a good time.

The trip will be March 14 thru 21, 2015. Among the activities that week will be the dedication of Vince Dooley Field, the brand new soccer complex at the Hope Middle School in the Agalta Valley. Coach Dooley is a member of the Wilderness Team and a Rotarian. When the University of Georgia didn’t name its football field for him, the Hondurans decided they would honor him with their futbol field bearing his name. There is plenty of work to do ranging from working with youngsters in the schools, supporting medical needs in the clinics and mixing cement for projects in the villages.
Accommodations at the ranch are comfortable, and the people of Honduras are delightful.

The cost of the trip if an all-inclusive $750 for expenses once in Honduras and you book your own airfare to Tegucigalpa to land mid-day on March 14th. Delta flies direct from Atlanta and the recent ticket price is $701.
The work has gone on in this area of Honduras for two decades and there is plenty of meaningful work to do. The size of the group was 50 last year and there is room for a good many more.
