John Deushane

President and General Manager

John Deushane was named President and General Manager for WXIA 11Alive and MYATL in Atlanta, Ga. in June 2010. A veteran TV executive with more than 35 years of experience in the industry, John formerly was chief operating officer for Granite Broadcasting Corporation in New York.

Prior to that he served as president and general manager at numerous television stations across the country including Fresno, CA, Austin, TX, Peoria, IL and Columbia/Jefferson City, MO.

John is a magna cum laude graduate of Bradley University earning a Bachelor of Science degree, with a double major of Journalism and Broadcast Management.

He has held board of director positions with numerous associations and currently serves on the boards of the Atlanta Business League, Georgia Association of Broadcasters, Alliance Theatre Board, CURE Childhood Cancer Board, and the Junior League of Atlanta. (Previous engagements included the New York, California, Illinois and Missouri Broadcaster Associations, Television Bureau of Advertising, NBC Sales and Marketing Committee, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Easter Seals, Council for Drug Free Youth, Bradley University, Boys & Girls Club, Crime Stoppers and others.)

John lives in Atlanta with his wife of 25 years, Kelly, and their daughters Taylor and Bailey. In his free time he enjoys running, playing golf and completing mission work. A 15-year resident of metro Atlanta, John is a true fan of the South as evidenced from his seven-year commute to New York City as an alternative to moving from Georgia.
