Veterans Day
Alpharetta Rotary Supports Our Soldiers
Grocery cart of gifts and supplies for our soldiers
Last Tuesday, on Veterans Day, Alpharetta Rotarians went shopping for our soldiers in Afghanistan. Sam Gordon, Mark Meckes, Phil Kingry, William Perkins and John Monson and his children met at the Wal Mart and spent an hour or so purchasing items for our troops. Everything from cards, movies, games, snacks, magazines, personal care products and a poker set were packed in 17 good sized boxes. All totaled, the Alpharetta Rotary Club is sending $1,114.00 worth of good cheer and support to a combat unit in Afghanistan. Our Club is making a positive difference in so many lives. These boxes should arrive right around Thanksgiving and bring a little bit of home to those who are serving for us.
